  Ask what condition or concern the proposed care addresses. Ask how the clinician reached that view and what other approaches are available.

• What exact product are we discussing?

  Ask for the medicine’s full name and form. Find out whether the product has approval or is prepared to order, and ask where it would come from.

• Why this option for me?

  Ask what evidence supports the proposed use and how closely that evidence fits your situation. Ask what remains uncertain.

• What problems could happen?

  Ask which unwanted effects are relevant to the exact medicine. Ask what needs an ordinary call, what needs urgent help and who answers after the visit.

• What does follow-up include?

  Ask how progress would be checked, when another health check would be needed and what later visits or tests would cost.

• What would I pay, and when?

  Ask for the care fee, medicine cost, proposed tests and ongoing charges in writing. Ask how insurance and any cash offer would be handled.
