For doctors whose names end with MD, the Medical Board’s Arizona search displays licence records as of October 3, 2026. It also links to public orders, which are written decisions the board has made about a doctor.
An order can describe limits on a doctor’s work or discipline for breaking rules.
Open it to read what the board decided and when; the title alone may not explain it.
Check a doctor whose name ends in DO with the DO board.
Doctors whose names end with DO have a separate Arizona licence search as of October 3, 2026. These doctors are called osteopathic doctors.
DO is the name of a medical degree and tells you which doctor board to use. If the letters are missing, ask the office whether the doctor is an MD or a DO. Check the full name so you have the right person.
For a nurse practitioner, check the licence and certificate.
As of October 3, 2026, Arizona’s Nursing Board links to checks for nurse licences and certificates for nurses with advanced training. A certificate records the board’s permission for that nursing role.
An Arizona nurse practitioner can make care decisions on their own.
To prescribe, they need board authority and must stay within their training.
Nurse practitioners are nurses with further training in assessing and treating health problems. Ask for the nursing licence and the nurse-practitioner certificate. Check prescribing permission separately.
For a physician assistant, use the PA board.

Arizona law limits the licence records available on a board’s website as of October 6, 2026. Finding no listed discipline does not prove that a health professional has never had a complaint or board decision.
Some older decisions and some kinds of complaints will not appear on the website. More public records can be requested from the board, although legal limits govern what it may release.
