Work through the question

Keep the answers with your notes.

  • For severe allergic symptoms, act now.

A severe allergic reaction can threaten life and cause face or tongue swelling, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or collapse.

Severe allergic symptoms require immediate action: call 911 or seek care now at the nearest emergency room.

  • For signs of a serious infection, get urgent medical care.

Sepsis is a medical emergency, says the CDC; it happens when the body responds in an extreme way to an infection.

Signs can include confusion, shortness of breath, extreme pain, fever or feeling very cold, clammy skin and a fast heartbeat or weak pulse.

The CDC is the federal public health agency. This list is for recognising a need for help, not diagnosing the cause.

  • If there may have been a medicine mistake, seek help.

Federal medicine information directs people to Poison Control about a possible overdose, meaning too much medicine was taken.

Use the Poison Control information linked from the NIH medicine page below. Do not use a website calculation to work out what happened.

  • Pause if a prescription is skipped.

Under federal law as of September 26, 2026, supplying a prescription medicine without a valid prescription is illegal.

  • Pause if “made to order” is presented as approved.

Calling a compounded drug FDA-approved is false according to the FDA, as of September 26, 2026.
